Regional Manager

Fenton Family Dental has an immediate opening for a world-class Regional Manager to lead and manage two dental practice locations (Silver Spring and Clinton MD), and participate in strategic planning, implementation, and management of additional dental practice locations within the Washington DC Metro Area.  The Regional Manager will report to the CEO and is responsible for the overall P&L responsibility of the dental offices and their day-to-day management. The Regional Manager will have direct reports (doctors and dental practice office managers) and in-direct reports (all other employees at these locations); presently there are two offices, 10 doctors, and 25 technicians plus clerical support staff, and the company is growing with future anticipated office and team members. The Regional Manager will be a key member of the executive team and will be responsible for the management, development, and coaching of our team members throughout the enterprise.

Regional Manager Position Description:

The Regional Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Fenton Family Dental practice locations in Silver Spring and Clinton, MD. The Regional Manager is a key member of the Executive Team and will participate in the strategic planning and growth of the dental practice to include growing the footprint of the company with additional office locations. The Regional Manager provides leadership and oversight of operations for the Fenton Family Dental practice. The COO is responsible for promoting and implementing the Fenton Family Dental's mission, core values, vision, and mission through the development and implementation of effective operational processes. The Regional Manager is responsible for delivering the quality of care, service excellence, professionalism, and business literacy of our medical, professional, and support teams. The COO is responsible for positive relationships and effective communications with executives, dentists, and medical professionals and support staff, as appropriate. The COO develops plans to implement care and services based on need and consistent with the Fenton Family Dental strategic plan. The COO supports the CEO and fulfills the leadership role in the CEO's absence.

Specific responsibilities of the Regional Manager include:
•    Works in coordination with the doctors, general managers, professional and support staff with full accountability for providing the highest level of service to Fenton Family Dental patients resulting in customer retention and referrals, ensuring that all Team Members are trained and functioning within our practice standards for excellence.
•    Responsible for the operational and financial accountability of the multi-office dental practice, communicating any issues through the appropriate channels.
•    Coordinate communication and meetings between the doctors, GMs, professionals, and support staff. Develop a meeting cadence for open communication and alignment of strategy in operations. Coordinate daily team huddles, weekly team meetings, and quarterly practice business meetings.
•    Effectively communicate and develop a strong working relationship with the practice doctors and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors.
•    Create, develop, improve, and promote the Fenton Family Dental policies, guidelines, professional expectations, and service standards.
•    Responsible to support the doctors and their professional and business practice development
•    Create and track business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conduct an analysis of the monthly financial and operational performance of the practice to identify opportunities for improvement and communicate findings and recommendations to the executive team.
•    Provide ongoing feedback, training and annual performance & salary reviews for team members within the practice.
•    Maintain protocols and guidelines as they relate to patient privacy (HIPAA) and team member safety (OSHA).
•    Assist in the interviewing, on-boarding and training of new hires.

Requirements

Education/Skills:
•    Master's degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or other advanced health- or business-related degree preferred.
•    Bachelor's degree in business, communications, health, operations, social science, or another subject germane to regional dentistry practice management required.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with a variety of individuals including physicians, professional and support staff, and the general public is required.
•    Demonstrated ability to hire, train and coach your teams
•    Demonstrated ability to market, sell, and grow dental or medical practice customer base, revenue, and profitability
•    Strong, independent work ethic and have the ability to take initiative
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•    Progressive career experience as a senior operating officer of a multi-office dental practice or health care facility with experience that is broad-based is preferred.
•    The ability to interact with physicians and leaders in the business community as necessary. Must have a strong understanding of and demonstrate skill in leadership, strategic management, change management, communications, team building, continuous quality improvement, and problem-solving, decision-making, and innovation, financial management of operations and stewardship of resources. 
•    Ensures execution of operational standards, including compliance within established company policies, procedures, and government regulations.
•    Achieves revenue goals by effectively managing patient scheduling, staff productivity, collections and receivables, specialty referral process, and miscellaneous operations expenses.
•    Manages labor costs within budget guidelines.
•    Increases and stimulates new patient growth and patient retention by supporting sales, marketing, and promotional programs for the assigned market.
•    Communicates with Branch Managers regularly to ensure they have the information, tools, and support needed to perform their jobs effectively and successfully.
•    Responds to doctor, patient, and employee grievances, complaints, and inquiries; seeks assistance when necessary.
